Togo striker Adebayor had an on-pitch argument with Dane Bendtner during the 5-1 Carling Cup semi final second leg defeat to Tottenham at White Hart Lane and, while footage proved inconclusive, it was alleged that the former Monaco man was responsible for a cut nose suffered by Bendtner.
Neither player was punished by the FA due to a lack of evidence as Wenger played down the incident.
"Everyone has played football and in what team does that kind of incident not happen?" the Frenchman asked. "I am surprised that in a country with such a history in the game that so much is made of it.
